LEWISTON — Oxford Networks evacuated their offices after a man with a toy Airsoft pellet gun sat outside the building about 10 a.m. Friday.
Lewiston police Sgt. Michael Whalen said Lewiston Police investigated and found the man sitting on a bench outside of the 491 Lisbon St. building with the toy gun in a Wal-Mart shopping bag.
“It was nothing,” Whalen said. “He wasn’t making any threatening gestures or anything. Somebody must have saw it in the bag and reported it. But he was just sitting on the bench, minding his own business.”
Matt Jancovic, Oxford Network’s executive vice president for sales and marketing, said the company chose not to take any chances, having its employees leave the building briefly. They returned once police gave them the all-clear.
