NORWAY — Rev. Fayre Stephenson will use Rev. Max A. Coots’ poem, “Seasons of the Self,” as a starting point for 11 a.m. services on Sunday, April 5, at the First Universalist Church in Norway. Social hour immediately following. Religious education and childcare available.

Coming services include:

* April 12, “The Way of the Phoenix.” Bernice Martin. The phoenix has long been a universal symbol of transformation. What can the mythical “bird of paradise” share with us about the art of transformation?

* April 19, “Times That Grow Our Souls.” Rev. Stephenson. Today our souls are tried by societal brokenness (economic disparity, global warming, racial injustices), and we wonder how we can follow Einstein’s advice “to widen our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

* April 26. Kate Braestrup works both as a community minister and a law enforcement chaplain in Maine. She has also authored several memoirs, as well as other works of fiction and non-fiction. Many of her works have topped the New York Times Bestsellers List.
