1920 – 2015

AUBURN — Wilma H. Belanger, 94, died Wednesday, April 1, at the Hospice House in Auburn. She was a longtime resident of Mexico.

Born in Rumford on Sept. 7, 1920, she was a daughter of Guy A. and Mary Ellen (Gaudin) Hillman. She was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1939 and worked at Diamond National in Dixfield and Oxford Paper Co. for several years before her marriage. She later worked at the Hot Lunch Program for the school district in Mexico for many years.

She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church in Rumford.

Wilma was married in Rumford, on Oct. 13, 1951, to Norman L. Belanger, who died in Mexico, on May 7, 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn and his wife, Robin, of Rumford, and David of Media, Pa.; two grandchildren, Lisa Belanger and her fiancé, Patrick Kane of Massachusetts, and Adam Belanger and his fiancée, Ashlinn Killeen of Portland.

She was predeceased by her husband; and two brothers, Raymond and Guy “Bud” Hillman.
