LITCHFIELD — Kyle Flaherty of Litchfield, a senior at Oak Hill High School, has been selected to receive the 2015 Principal’s Award, Principal Patricia Doyle has announced.

Flaherty is the son of Moses and Diana Flaherty. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Throughout his years at Oak Hill, Flaherty has distinguished himself as a student and athlete. He has served as captain of the State Championship Football Teams his junior and senior years. He was also selected to the Campbell Conference All-Star Team two years in a row. He is an active member of the Mountain Valley Conference Student Advisory Team. Award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on Saturday, April 11.

The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler. This year an additional five $1,000 scholarships will be presented through the efforts of the MPA Scholarship Golf Tournament.
