Flaherty is the son of Moses and Diana Flaherty. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Throughout his years at Oak Hill, Flaherty has distinguished himself as a student and athlete. He has served as captain of the State Championship Football Teams his junior and senior years. He was also selected to the Campbell Conference All-Star Team two years in a row. He is an active member of the Mountain Valley Conference Student Advisory Team.
