LEWISTON – SeniorsPlus has announced the launch of a long-distance-learning program that will connect people in the Farmington area with live educational seminars at the Lewiston Education Center of SeniorsPlus.

The first class, Some Easy to Swallow Truths, will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, in the Franklin Memorial Hospital Chisholm Room in Farmington.

The class will discuss the health of the mouth, esophagus and stomach. The presenter is Dr. Alan Verrill, an internist affiliated with Central Maine Medical Center and Bridgeton Hospital.

“We have heard loud and clear from Franklin County older adults that they, too, would like to have educational opportunities, like the great programs being held at the Lewiston Education Center,” said Connie Jones, director of community services at SeniorsPlus.

Farmington-area resident will gather at the Franklin Memorial Hospital and be connected in real time to the group that is meeting in Lewiston.

Community members who wish to join the classroom at the Franklin Memorial Hospital need to register with SeniorsPlus. The class is free and all are welcome. FMI: 1-800-427-1241.
