LEWISTON — Betsey Ann Lenberg, 72, of Norway, died peacefully Sunday morning surrounded by her family at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.
 
Mrs. Lenberg was born Aug. 15, 1942, the daughter of the late George and Henrietta Burns of Woburn, Mass. She married her high school sweetheart, Francis (Butch) Lenberg, on Aug. 25, 1961. Together they owned and operated Betsey’s Country Store in downtown Welchville for 31 years. Betsey’s was a place where the folks who came in weren’t just customers, they were friends.  They sold the store in November 2001 and retired to their home in Norway. 
 
She will be endlessly missed by her husband Butch, her daughter Susan Alberi and husband Jamie, and her son Butchie Lenberg and wife Kay. Mrs. Lenberg also leaves behind her grandchildren, Matthew Conroy and wife Kari of O’Fallon, Mo., Sean Alberi and wife Brittany of Casco, Katie Lenberg and her boyfriend Lucas Garrett of Waterford, Christopher Alberi of Otisfield and his girlfriend Chelsea Merritt of Plainfield, Conn., Brian Lenberg and his girlfriend Meryl Kelly of Bethel; two great-grandsons, Liam Lenberg-Courcy and Colten Conroy; her sister, Jean Maguire and her husband Tom of Woburn, Mass.; her brother George Burns and his wife Sandra of Reading, Mass.; a sister-in-law Martha Burns of Tewksbury, Mass. and her best friends Beverly Olson and Dixie MacDonald.
 
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Henrietta, and a brother, Bobby Burns. 
 
A celebration of life will be held in the forum at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, 256 Main St., South Paris on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oxford Hills Performing Arts, P.O.
