LIVERMORE FALLS — The staff at Treat Memorial Library has finished weeding the collection and all discarded items have been added to Elsie’s Re-read Used Book Emporium.

The Emporium is now restocked with “new” items that are available for a donation.

Hours are 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

The Library is also conducting a raffle with 30 cash prizes. Tickets are $5 each or $10 for three. Tickets are available at the library or from library trustees. The money will be used to replace library furniture.

The Summer Reading Program revolves around heroes this year. Registration will start as school ends for the summer.

Staff member Nick Berry has started a Teen Writers Group that has taken off. Through mutual support and input members will learn to be better writers.

Over the next few weeks the group will host visitors from the University of Maine at Farmington, including two professors from the creative writing program and members of the UMF Writers Guild.

Assistant Director Brianna Rush is facilitating a Spring Book Discussion Group which meets the second Thursday of each month.

The next date is 3 p.m. May 14. The group will discuss “Here Sits a Monkey: A Maine Mystery” by local author Diane Taylor-Moore Hines. She is a member of the group. If interested in joining, call the library and speak with Brianna.

Our next Homeschool Meeting will be 3 p.m. May 21. If you are a homeschooling family or considering becoming one, you are invited to join. All ages are welcome and there will be activities provided.
