LISBON — Lisbon High School Class of 2014 alumni, Courtney R. Martel, enlisted in the United States Navy on June 23, 2014.

Martel completed basic training at the Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., on Aug. 22, 2014, and the Quarter Master Class “A” school in November 2014.

Courtney is currently stationed on the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer – USS Paul Hamilton, with her homeport of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Martel is the daughter of Lisa and Robert Martel of Lisbon and Melony Martel of York.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas — Air Force Airman 1st Class David R. Despins graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Despins is the son of Richard D. Despins of Gray.

He is a 2014 graduate of Gray New Gloucester High School, Gray.

LISBON — Lisbon High School Class of 2014 graduate, Cory O’Connor, is currently serving his country as an Airmen 1st Class in Guam.

O’Connor is the son of Tammy Orr and James O’Connor, and the grandson of Darrell and Nancy Orr, Lisbon Falls.

O’Connor graduated in top of his class with a grade point average of 98 at the Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.

Cory will be stationed at the Andersen Air Force Base in Guam for the next two years.

O’Connor is the son of James O’Connor of Turner and Tammy Orr of Greene, Maine, step-son of Michelle O’Connor of Turner, Maine, and grandson of Darrell and Sandy Orr of Lisbon Falls and Nancy Orr of Greene.

He is a 2014 graduate of Lisbon High School, Lisbon Falls.

LISBON — Pvt. Paula Nicole Caron, a graduate of Lisbon High Schools’ Class of 2014 and a member of the Lisbon Schools’ volunteer program, has graduated from the U.S. Army Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Pvt. Caron is a U.S. Army Reservist who completed the Motor Transport Operator (88m) Training at Fort Leonard Wood.

Pvt. Caron is currently assigned to the 619th Transportation Company located on Minot Avenue in Auburn.

Caron recently met with LHS undergraduates and shared her military aspirations and goals. Caron recently completed a program assisting a second grade class at Lisbon Community School with a unit of studies relating to the Community provided by the Junior Achievement Program.

Private Caron is the daughter of George and Lisa Caron of Lisbon Falls.

Priest is the son of Cathy and John Priest of Wales and brother of Ashley Malloch of Lewiston, Amanda Ladd of Winthrop and Amber Malloch of Van Bruein.

The airman graduated in 2014 from Oak Hill High School, Wales.
