The Lisa Benson political cartoon printed April 26 (which outraged me), is a perfect example of how the GOP works its magic and political propaganda.
On first observation of the cartoon it is factual, except for one small omission — the hand that operates the scissors does not have a critical label, “GOP House representatives.”
Recently, I was phone scammed, so I went to the Internal Revenue Service to report the incident and, lo and behold, I was that person in the cartoon.
The short story is that after I did an Internet search for “IRS budget cuts,” the facts were revealed. The most interesting was from Forbes, which stated the GOP is systematically reducing the IRS budget.
The moral is, scrutinize all. A small omission changes the whole meaning.
