1959 – 2015

AUBURN — David M. Griffin, 56, of Greene, died Saturday, May 2, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Services in Auburn, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 18, 1959, he was the son Vernon and Berta Stevens Griffin III. Educated in local schools, he attended Gray New Gloucester High School, and receives his GED from Oak Hill High School in 1993. On Dec. 18, 1982, he married the love of his life, the former Leah Tymoczko. He was employed as a mechanic for many years by Fleet Truck in Greene, retiring due to his illness. He enjoyed antiquing and going to garage sales, and running a booth at the Cabot Mill in Brunswick, where he was known as the “radio guy.”

He is survived by his loving wife of Greene; two daughters, Deidre Griffin and fiancé, Chad Landry, and Sarah Griffin, all of Greene; two brothers, Vernon IV and wife, Elaine, of Casco, and Gard and wife, Vicki, of Lewiston; five sisters, Lorraine Griffin of New Gloucester, Fran Dupont and fiancé, Spencer Osgood, of Jay, Debbie and husband, Terry Grieve, of Florida, Kristi and husband, Norman Lowe, of Mechanic Falls, and Jamie and husband, Steve Morin, of New Gloucester; two grandchildren, Brice Fortin and Cameron Landry; and his beloved dog, Buster.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Gilblair; and a brother, Kenard Griffin.
