Famed Maine folk singer-songwriter David Mallet, composer of the “Garden Song” among other folk classics, will be lending his voice to the Eleventh Annual Remembering Tom Rowe: a Celebration in Song concert, set for 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 9, at the First Universalist Church, 169 Pleasant St., Auburn. Mallett was the favorite songwriter of the late Rowe, who was a member of Schooner Fare and Turkey Hollow. Rowe always complimented how Mallett could “paint a picture with words.” The concert, which will also include Schooner Fare, Denny Breau, Dave Rowe and the Squid Jiggers and will benefit the Jack McPhilips Memorial fund http://www.jmmf.org.
