I have a story to tell, of how I was judged unfairly (a lot of people will vouch) two weeks (and since) ago Friday.
It starts about 8-9 p.m. Friday on a mid-April morning. My neighbor in the complex called and told me my car lights (front and back) were flashing.
I had to get dressed up warm, find car keys and go out to see what was going on. First, I always lock my car up after getting out. I didn’t know that day that a spare door lock key was missing.
Before that, the morning before and that morning, someone had rung my doorbell at 6:30 a.m., but no one was there! I unlocked my car and started the engine, to save the battery. Then, I got inside, and pushed down on the button to shut the flashing lights off.
(More info: I’ve had arthritis and carpal tunnel, and it has left the first joint of my finders and thumbs without much feeling. I’ve cut, or burnt, the tips and felt nothing! I didn’t do it on purpose…)
About 9 a.m., the mail lady came and I told her what I’d done. She said she “had to press hard” to stop them (the lights).
Before I knew the key was missing, I called my garage man. I thought maybe it had short-circuited. He came and took it to his garage and checked it out. At about the same time period, I called the Sheriff’s Department to tell them about the harassing things being done to me so it would stop. The keys came back two weeks later!
They said they’d send someone to check things out. That was the purpose of my call! Come to find out, that week the state cops were on duty and not the deputies (county).
So, two cops showed up about noon, a female and a male. I told them about the lights and doorbells and other harassing stuff and story. I didn’t know then that my key was missing.
They did not question my neighbors to see if anyone saw anything or not. They did nothing!
About one week later, I received from the state a letters and a form for doctors having to do with my license! I only use my car to go get groceries and go to my church. I have my name in at one or two boarding homes in Farmington that I can find.
If and when I get down it it, I plan to give up my car. My church members will help me get to where I need to go. I now am needing and ready for less stress, etc., not more.
So, that’s why I felt I was judged unfairly. It had nothing to do with my record.
