RANGELEY — Multi-platinum Nashville recording artist Josh Turner will perform in concert at the Rangeley Health and Wellness Pavilion in Rangeley,  on Saturday, July 25. The concert, co-sponsored by 99.9 The Wolf, raises money to support programs and services provided by Rangeley Health and Wellness Partnership to residents and visitors of western Maine.

Opening for Turner is Craig Wayne Boyd, Season 7 winner of NBC’s reality TV singing competition,” The Voice.”

With a rich, deep voice and a distinctive style, Turner is a disciple of traditional country music and one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry. Since the release of his debut album, Long Black Train, Josh Turner has received six Inspirational Country Music Awards and garnered multiple Gammy, CMA and ACM nominations. Selling over 5 million albums, Turner’s hits include “Your Man,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “Firecracker,” “Would You Go with Me,” and “All Over Me.” His hit song “Time Is Love” was the most-played country song of 2012.

A Hannah, S.C. native, Turner has been songwriting and performing since he was a young child, and in support of music education, created The Josh Turner Scholarship Fund to assist students interested in pursuing a future in arts/music.

As a high school student, Turner had very little access to music education, therefore realized first-hand the importance of arts in the schools. Turner also added author to his list of accomplishments. His first book, “Man Stuff: Thoughts on Faith, Family and Fatherhood” was released in 2014.

Opening for Turner is Texas-born Craig Wayne Boyd, who came to the public’s attention when he was a contestant on the seventh season of NBC’s The Voice in 2014. Ending up on Blake Shelton’s team, Boyd’s powerful voice and musical versatility made him a fan favorite, and eventual overall winner.

Rangeley Region Health and Wellness Partnership has been bringing legendary rock and country bands to Rangeley since 2007 with its inaugural concert featuring the band Foreigner. Other bands that have filled the western mountains with music include Beach Boys, Doobie Brothers, Travis Tritt, Gregg Allman, and Kenny Loggins.

All proceeds from the concerts support services provided by RRHW including affordable-fitness programs, physical rehabilitation services, Rangeley Family Medicine, children’s wellness programs, and much more.
