STRONG — The dedication of RLH Enterprise employees to heavy equipment service and repair can be seen in the smoothly operating trucks traveling through Strong and other area towns.

“It’s a treat to see something roll by the window that you’ve done,” said owner Rob Elliott. “If you keep them going, they’ll keep you going.”

Rob and his wife, Heidi, have been in the trucking business since 1995. In 2011, he purchased the garage in Strong.

The RLH Enterprise employees bring decades of experience to the truck, trailer, and auto repair business. When asked about the changes that have occurred since the business was established in 2011, Rob responded, “We do AC work now, auto repair. We have a hydraulics shop in the building as well.”

Western Maine Hydraulics uses the facilities, but is owned by Dennis Blake, who has years of experience and is well known to those in trucking and construction businesses. For hydraulic services, call 684-5150.

Another change to RLH Enterprise was an addition constructed onto the back of the building last year “so we can get a whole truck and trailer inside to work on,” said Rob.

RLH provides a wide range of maintenance and repair services on heavy trucks, construction and logging equipment, commercial flatbed and box trailers, excavation equipment, farm equipment, and personal light duty trucks. In addition to the repair services, RLH sells heavy equipment parts and tires.

The wide array of services for heavy machinery of all sizes include but are not limited to tires, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, welding, metal fabrication, suspension services, king pins, bearing replacement, clutch service, engine replacement, exhaust repair, oil changes, frame straightening, trailer body repair, painting, DOT inspections, wet systems, transmission and differential service, AC service, and retreading tires. Roadside service is available.

RLH’s parts department carries a wide range of parts for KW, Western Star, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Ford, Caterpillar, Cummins, all makes of heavy trucks and commercial logging, and flatbed and freight trailers. Generally, there is a 24-hour turnaround on most parts orders. The parts include filters, hoses, suspension parts, electrical, exhaust, brakes, tires, rims, oils and fluids, batteries, lighting, and more. Parts not normally stocked can be ordered with quick turnaround depending on supplier availability.

Rob said that Trey Smith, the parts and service manager at RLH, “is pretty good with his research. He does a great job finding what he needs.” Call Trey on his cell phone at 491-5558 if you need to get parts quickly.

The auto service department at RLH provides general service work on most makes and models of passenger car and pickup trucks. The services include minor engine services, oil changes, brakes, exhaust, suspension, tires, and state inspections.

There are many different types of excavation services provided at RLH. “We’re not particularly fussy there,” said Rob. “We do anything household or bigger. We do more residential than commercial, but we’re not afraid to do commercial.”

RLH Enterprise also owns Rob Elliott Trucking, which provides trucking services for forest products, sand, loam and gravel, firewood, and heavy equipment transport in Maine and New Hampshire.

The RLH office hours are from 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m., “but 24/7 if you call my cell phone,” said Rob. For more information, call the RLH office at 684-5558. Visit the website at www.rlhenterprise.com
