CANTON — The Victorian Villa Rehabilitation and Living Center is being sold to a New York health care management firm later this year, Administrator Mark Jacobs said in an e-mail Thursday evening.

Jacobs, who is a grandson of the Victorian Villa’s original founders, Aiden and Zilla Redding, said the principals of Victorian Villa have entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement to sell the real estate and operations of the business, pending state approval.

The purchasers are Pinnacle Group of Hudson Valley, which has “extensive experience managing long-term care facilities,” Jacobs said.

Jacobs will continue to run day-to-day operations and does not expect any “drastic material changes” due to the sale, he said.

Pinnacle Group CEO Israel Nachfolger said, “More recently, Victorian Villa has thrived as a five-star facility under the able leadership of Mark Jacobs.  Pinnacle Group fully intends on maintaining the high standard of care and personal touch that makes Victorian Villa such a special place for the residents.”

Jacobs said, “More information would be made public” as the closing date approaches.

Town Administrator Scotty Kilbreth said the sale would have a “minimal” impact on the town. If the facility were to close, however, it would have a “huge impact on the sewer and water.”

The nursing home is at 26 Pleasant St. at the corner of Routes 108 and 140. It was founded in 1970 by the Reddings.

The facility serves 47 in the nursing facility, 67 in the residential care facility, and 12 in the adult day service program, according to the home’s website.
