AUBURN — Decoration Day ceremony, 1 p.m., Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial Day has roots in the practice of decorating the graves of loved ones who died in the Civil War. Open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at Central Fire Station to honor living veterans and families for their sacrifices.

AUBURN — City Council workshop, 5:30 p.m. in the City  Council Chambers on the second floor of Auburn Hall. Scheduled topics are budget proposals from L-A Arts and Great Falls TV.

LEWISTON — Bates College students who recently returned from Ethiopia will share insights about teaching English there at Teaching English in Ethiopia, noon to 1:30 p.m., Commons 221/222, 136 Central Ave.

LEWISTON — Lewiston’s Downtown Neighborhood Action Committee regular meeting, 6:30 p.m. in the Administrator’s Conference Room on the bottom floor of Lewiston City Hall. Meeting topics include a review of the Paradis Park grand opening and a parking study.
