WILTON — Even though Western Maine Play Museum is not yet open, museum board members have planned a variety of events this summer.

Western Maine Play Museum’s summer movie series will begin on Friday, June 12, when children and their parents can watch a series of family movies under the stars. The museum will feature movies once a month throughout the summer and into September.

The first show, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” will begin at 8:30 p.m. June 12 (rain date Saturday, June 13) in the backyard of the museum. Admission is by pre-sold tickets, which may be purchased at the Wilton Free Public Library for $4 a person, $10 a family.

Families are advised to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for seating, and jammies are allowed. Concessions and museum merchandise will be available for purchase, and toilet facilities will be provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The museum is located at 561 Main St. next to the Franklin Savings Bank and across from the Methodist Church.

Other movies scheduled for the summer:

Friday, July 10 (rain date Saturday, July 11), “The Princess Bride,” 8:30 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 7 (rain date Sunday Aug. 9), “The Lego Movie,” 8 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 4 (rain date Saturday, Sept. 5), “Finding Nemo,” 7:15 p.m.

During the Blueberry Festival, in addition to the Friday night movie, the museum will feature G Force Laser Tag of Presque Isle at the museum site throughout the day on Friday and Saturday.
