JAY — Spruce Mountain Middle School has announced the final activities for the school year. 

Eighth Grade Parent Night: Spruce Mountain Middle School will hold an eighth grade parent night for students currently in the eighth grade at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 in the Spruce Mountain High School cafeteria. This meeting will provide valuable information about the course offerings at SMHS. The program of studies will be provided at the meeting for course selections. There will be a ninth grade orientation day on August 28 to meet teachers and navigate through their schedules.

College Fair: Juniors who have signed up will attend a college fair at the University of Maine at Augusta from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28.

Final Exams: Final exams for seniors will be May 29, June 1, 2 and 3. Underclassmen exams will be June 15-19.

Yearbook Dedication: The SMHS yearbook will be dedicated to a faculty member on Friday, May 29. Yearbooks will then be distributed to students who have purchased them.

Fine Arts Night: SMHS will host Fine Arts Night at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2 in the cafeteria. This will be to recognize drama, band, chorus and art.

Senior Scholarship Celebration: SMHS will honor the students of the class of 2015 with a banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 4. All scholarships and awards will be presented on this night. All seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend in the gym to celebrate their hard work. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Baccalaureate: Baccalaureate will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 5 at St. Rose of Lima Church. Students are invited to participate in this independent activity. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Graduation: The SMHS class of 2015 will hold graduation at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 7, in the gymnasium. Reserved seating tickets will be distributed to each senior. Bleacher seating is for everyone else who would like to attend.

Spring Sports Banquet: The baseball, softball and track & tennis teams will be honored at the spring banquet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 in the gym.

Spring Theatre: There will be a drama theatre performance titled “The Secret Lives of Subway Riders” at 7 p.m. Friday, June 12 on the SMHS stage. Everyone is welcome to attend.
