BIDDEFORD (AP) — The city council in Biddeford is set to host an anticipated public meeting to hear more comments about allegations of sexual abuse against former police officers.

Biddeford officials say the meeting will take place on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Biddeford High School. Officials moved the meeting to the larger venue after planning to hold it earlier this month at the City Council chambers.

Residents prompted the meeting with a petition circulated by a resident about the response of city officials to the abuse allegations.

The Maine attorney general’s office is investigating sex abuse allegations made against retired police officer Stephen Dodd. Dodd’s attorney has not returned phone messages seeking comment.
