LEWISTON — Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will celebrate the feast day of the parish with the service of Vespers of the Holy Spirit at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 31.

Clergy and parishioners from other Orthodox Christian parishes in the area will gather together to celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit, which culminates the feast of Pentecost. The icon of the Holy Trinity depicts three angels in the setting of the Hospitality of Abraham from the Book of Genesis. The Lord appeared to Abraham in the form of three angels, to whom Abraham and Sarah opened their doors of hospitality.

In Lewiston, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is located at 155 Hogan Road. This year’s Lenten services were marked by the arrival of its new priest, the Rev. Peter A. Day, with his wife (called Presvytera) Anthe Labanaris Day. They were welcomed to the parish on March 1, just in time for the first Sunday of Lent.
