LEWISTON — The Rainbow Federal Credit Union board announced that Mark Samson has been selected as CEO and president after an extensive national search.

Samson will assume leadership of the credit union following the 44-year tenure of Philippe Moreau, who will retire in the coming months.

Samson has more than 25 years of banking experience and joined Rainbow Federal Credit Union in 2012 as executive vice president of lending. Prior to joining Rainbow FCU, he was the senior vice president/senior retail lending manager at Mechanics Saving Bank.

He is an active participant in the community and serves on the board of directors for Community Concepts and on the Saint Dominic’s Academy Finance Committee. He is a former Maine state legislator, Maine State Housing commissioner, Androscoggin County Budget Committee member and Auburn Youth Hockey coach.

He is a lifelong resident of Lewiston-Auburn, currently residing in Auburn with his wife and two children.
