What a wonderful day it would be,

If someone could redo that day.

None of this would’ve happened, which nobody sought.

264 people would have been celebrating the race.

They wouldn’t be in hospitals, their injuries healing.

It is sad that nobody could finish the race.

Sixteen police would be back on the streets.

They wouldn’t feel like America was beat.

St. Patrick’s Day would have been a wonderful day.

If only the families had looked away,

They wouldn’t be scarred still to this day.

If only they hadn’t opened the gate.

Thousands of lives wouldn’t have been at stake.
