NYA graduate elected PRSSA officer

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Katherine Millett of Poland was recently elected treasurer of Susquehanna University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America for the 2015-2016 academic year.

PRSSA provides its members with opportunities for hands-on public relations experience and is designed to prepare college students for work in public relations and related areas. Students who are members of the executive staff participate each year in the national conference of the professional-level Public Relations Society of America.

Millett, a strategic communications major, is a 2012 graduate of North Yarmouth Academy High School and the daughter of Timothy and Annemarie Millett.

Lake Regional High graduate presents research at national conference

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Matthew Schreiber of Naples was one of 41 students from Susquehanna University who recently presented research at the 2015 annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research at University of Kentucky.

Schreiber’s research, titled “Do Sibling Cannibals Grow Up To Try To Eat Their Mates? Aggression And Cannibalism As A Behavioral Syndrome In Wolf Spiders,” and “The Costs And Benefits Of Sibling Cannibalism In The Wolf Spider Tigrosa Helluo: A Mother’s Perspective,” was supervised by Matt Persons, professor of biology at Susquehanna.

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research promotes undergraduate research scholarship and creative activity done in partnership with faculty or other mentors as a vital component of higher education. The annual conference has become a national celebration of undergraduate scholarly activity involving all academic disciplines and all institutions of higher education.

Schreiber, a biology major in the class of 2015, is a 2011 graduate of Lake Regional High School and is the son of Paul and Sara-Sue Schreiber.

Poland native inducted into Kappa Delta Pi

EASTON, Mass. — Poland native Sally Littlefield was recently inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society at Stonehill College. The Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education recognizes students who have shown evidence of outstanding academic achievement.

Littlefield is a member of the class of 2017 at the college.

Erin Luce Receives Academic Excellence Award in Business Administration

CASTLETON, Vt. — Castleton student Erin Luce of Carrabassett Valley was recently awarded the Castleton College Academic Excellence Award in Business Administration for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The Academic Excellence Award is given annually to a student who is deemed the top student in his or her major.
