A local hidden gem of Native American culture

To the Editor:

I had the pleasure of visiting Nowetah’s Indian Store and Museum in New Portland as part of Saturday’s History Tour.

I was amazed at the rich variety of artifacts made by Native Americans throughout North America and even Central and South America. We have a treasure of Native American culture within easy driving distance of Farmington on Route 27. There is no admission charge for the museum, and the store is crammed with beautiful clothing and jewelry made by native people.
