FRYEBURG — Mackenzie Buzzell and Makayla Cooper paced a relentless offense Wednesday as Fryeburg Academy rolled to a 12-0 preliminary round win over Morse High School.

The Raiders (11-6) plated four runs in the first, five in the second and three in the third to earn the mercy-rul win. Buzzell went 4-for-4 with three runs scored, while Cooper added two hits, including a double, and five RBIs.

Nicole Bennett was the winning pitcher for Fryeburg, yielding only one hit, while Marissa Parks suffered the loss for the Shipbuilders, whose season ends with a record of 8-9.

North Yarmouth Academy 10, Oak Hill 6

NORTH YARMOUTH —  Trevor Lachance had six goals to lead the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers to a 10-6 victory over the Oak Hill Raiders in an Eastern Class B quarterfinal matchup.

Jake Rasch had a pair of goals while Sam Johnson and Patrick Mallett each had a goal for the Panthers.

Kyle Flaherty led the Raiders with a hat trick while Steven Gilbert had a pair of goals. Matt Gilbert had a goal and two assists.

NYA goalie DJ Nicholas made 14 saves while Matty Martin made eight saves for Oak Hill.
