FARMINGTON — United Way of the Tri-Valley Area is announcing the availability of Venture Grant funding.

UWTVA Venture Grants are designed to provide the additional resources needed to support projects that are new, innovative, collaborative, sustainable, and will fulfill the needs and improve the lives of people living in Franklin County, Starks, Livermore and Livermore Falls. Venture Grant applications must also align with the mission of the UWTVA, which is to improve lives and build a strong and healthy community. Grants will be made from a minimum of $500 and up to $10,000.

While United Way’s annual allocation process requires applicants to be a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, United Way accepts Venture Grant applications from nonprofits, municipalities, coalitions or individuals. Last year, United Way funded Western Maine Homeless Outreach, Androscoggin Children’s Advocacy Center and HealthReach Community Health Centers.

Venture Grant applications are due July 31. Applications may be found at www.uwtva.org.
