LIVERMORE FALLS — The Treat Memorial Library will host a variety of activities throughout summer.

The Every Hero Has a Story Summer Reading Program will continue in July every Thursday at 6 p.m. Celebrate historical, mythological, and community heroes with stories, games, crafts, and food. It will collect non-perishable food items for the local food bank. Kids can be superheros of reading this summer and are encouraged to fill out reading logs.

Chewonki Traveling Nature Program will take place Thursday, July 16, to present Hero Adaptations, a look at how some of the most beloved superheroes were inspired by amazing animals. Kids will learn about uncanny animal abilities and also get the chance to enter a statewide contest by creating their own hero. This program is free and open to the public.

Preschool Story Time continues throughout the summer as well on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

The Teen Writing Group will meet Tuesdays, July 7 and July 21, at 6 p.m. All area teen writers are encouraged to attend. Each writer will receive a writing journal full of prompts to inspire the creative process. They will also get helpful hints support, and encouragement from the group and from visiting writers.

The Spring Book Club becomes a summer book club as readers continue a series on Maine authors. Interested readers should contact Assistant Director Brianna if interested in reserving a copy of the next book up for discussion. The club’s next meeting will take place on Thursday, July 9, at 3 p.m.
