FARMINGTON —  Divine Inspirations Gifts and Decor will soon move on up to Main Street while Divine Inspirations Footwear remains on Front Street.

The gift and decor items will move in with Trask Jewelers at 174 Main St., Tammy Parsons, owner said.

The footwear portion of the business is taking over and expanding. It leaves little room for the gifts and the primitive style decor items that she also carries. But, customers didn’t want her to get rid of them, she said.

“I had to find more room,” she said.

So she went to talk with John Anderson who has been trying to lease the front of the jewelry store since he closed in December.

Anderson will continue to run Trask Jewelry on Tuesday and Wednesdays in a backroom of the store. After a short respite in Florida, he came back to continue repairing watches and jewelry and changing watch batteries from the store on those two days.

Anderson also still has some watches, diamond rings and gifts available from his closing sale, he said.

A new rug and some painting is being undertaken. The front window is already filled with a variety of items.

My goal is to have a grand opening during SummerFest in downtown Farmington. Only she will hold it two days, July 24 and 25, she said. She may open prior to that as people are already stopping in to see what she is doing.

“I think it will work out well,” she said of the union of the two stores in one space.
“We’re going to work together. I’m excited and people are excited to hear another retail business is moving in.”

The store on Front Street will be all footwear, she said. She plans to expand on men’s and children’s footwear and has some new boots arriving.

A Canadian brand, Baffin Boots, will be added in the fall. They are warm for snowmobiling and ice fishing. Tall leather boots will also be added, she said.

In the Main Street store, she plans to carry some jewelry, gifts and decor, more primitive-style items and bring back a Maine section filled with items highlighting moose and camping.  She will also continue offering braided rugs and linens, she said.

Both Divine Inspirations will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
