LIVERMORE FALLS — A couple from Naples were critically injured when their motorcycle struck the back of a pickup truck on Route 133 on Thursday, Lt. Joseph Sage said.

Troy Bell, 50, and Daveen Bell, 48, were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with head injuries, the officer said. A nursing supervisor said Friday evening that no information on their condition was being released.

Sage said Troy Bell was following a Ford Ranger pickup driven by Richard Buck, 60, of Wayne near Pike’s Corner Oasis just before noon. At the same time, Buck attempted to make a right turn, Bell tried to pass him on the right and hit the truck with his 2009 Harley-Davidson.

Buck was not hurt in the crash, the officer said.

The motorcycle was inoperable; the truck had minor damage, he said.

The accident remains under investigation.
