LEWISTON — After watching the weather, Liberty Festival organizers said on their Facebook page just before 6 p.m. Saturday that the planned fireworks will go on at 9:30 p.m.
Earlier in the afternoon, the start of sprinkles didn’t stop the sound check at Veterans Memorial Park and it didn’t stop a crowd from starting to wander down to the Androscoggin River to grab the best seats with a view.
The event usually draws between 10,000 and 15,000 people.
