GUILFORD — The Piscataquis County Sheriff’s office says law enforcement officials are converging on Guilford after a confirmed sighting of murder suspect Robert Burton.
Officials say Burton was seen wearing full camouflage and a black pack on Monday. Law enforcement officials were focusing on the First and Second Davis Pond areas.
The 38-year-old Burton has been on the run for about a month after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Ginn Gebo.
Authorities say he’s familiar with woods in the area and is considered armed and dangerous.
Law enforcement have been using aircraft and ground searches to try to find him. He was last spotted in Guilford on June 17 but he managed to elude capture.
