1930 – 2015

NORWAY — Virgil Giles, 84, of Norway, passed away Monday, July 13, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Virgil was born in Albion on Oct. 14, 1930, a son of Percy and Beatrice (Harding) Giles and attended Albion schools.

He lived in Norway for many years and worked at area factories, including Cornwall Wood Products and Gladding Paris. He had also worked for some local highway departments.

Virgil enjoyed tinkering on trucks, attending yard sales, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his son, Reginald Giles of Auburn; his daughter, Shirley Turner and her husband, Clarence, of Auburn; a great friend and caregiver, Carol Palmer of Jay; and a grandson, Michael Giles and his girlfriend, Suzie Louzer.

He is predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Giles; and a brother, Maynard Giles.
