FARMINGTON — The girls varsity basketball team is slowly closing in on its goal of raising $14,000 to participate in a National Holiday basketball tournament in Orlando, Florida in December.

The team has until Aug. 1st to continue their fundraising efforts before the players are not allowed to have anymore involvement due to Maine Principal’s Association rules. They are in hopes of raising another $4,000 to cover the remaining expenses for all of the players.

The team is currently holding a raffle with the winning prize being your choice of eight cords of tree length wood or $1,000 cash. Raffle tickets are being sold by the players, coaches and their families at $10 per ticket. Anyone interested may also contact Gavin Kane at [email protected] to request raffle tickets.

The team has also recently done Community work days, a bottle drive, a car wash and hosted a summer basketball tournament.
