St. Lawrence University announces dean’s list

CANTON, N.Y. — St. Lawrence University has announced its spring 2015 dean’s list. The following local residents have been named along with their academic majors:

Holland B. Gallup of Turner. Gallup is a member of the Class of 2017, majoring in biology. She attended Kents Hill School.

Isaac H. Gingras of Winthrop. Gingras is a member of the Class of 2018. He attended Cony High School.

Louisa M. Stancioff of Chesterville. Stancioff is a member of the Class of 2016, majoring in psychology and music. She attended Mount Blue High School.

Marguerite A. Wiser of Bridgton. Wiser is a member of the Class of 2017, majoring in environmental studies and English. She attended Gould Academy.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

Local student graduates from Pa. college

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Victoria Forkus of Bryant Pond graduated magna cum laude from Washington & Jefferson College on May 16 with a Bachelor of Arts in history. She graduated with the following rewards and honors: Phi Beta Kappa, Henry Wilson Temple Prize in History, Magellan Project Award and Kelso Award. She was the four-year award recipient of National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad. Forkus is the daughter of Susan Forkus and the late Michael Forkus.

Ithaca College announces graduates

ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca College has announced its 2015 graduates. The following local residents graduated from Ithaca College:

Colby Locke of Bridgton, Aubrey Landsfeld of New Gloucester, Amber Thibault of Lewiston, Evan Arbour of Winthrop and Abbie Hutchinson of Pownal.

URI announces dean’s list

KINGSTON, R.I. — The University of Rhode Island has announced its spring 2015 dean’s list. The list includes the following local residents:

Emma Catherine Walker of Naples, Benjamin W Welch of Denmark, Sydney Grace Charles of Fryeburg and Joshua Wayne Harper of Gray.

To be included on the dean’s list, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

RPI announces graduates

TROY, N.Y. — Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has announced its 2015 graduates. The following local residents were among those receiving degrees at the commencement ceremonies:

Alexandra Allen of Wilton, graduated with a B.S. in Design, Innovation and Society.

Jonathan Soucy of Lewiston, graduated cum laude with a B.S. in chemical engineering.
