LIVERMORE FALLS — Maine’s Paper and Heritage Museum has announced it will hold a 50-year celebration of the Androscoggin Mill and the paper industry beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.

The museum will be celebrating paper makers, the paper industry and logging and wood products. There are children’s activities planned, including log train rides. A tent will be setup to hear oral histories and stories from loggers and mill workers.

There will be music, food and games including horseshoes and pickup baseball.

The event will feature log rolling, buck saw and pulp throw competitions. The museum is looking for men and women to participate in the contests.

The event will be held in Livermore Falls on the recreation field behind the town office, with vendors by the gazebo. The event is free and open to the public.

Comedian Father Guedio of Chisholm Falls will perform at 7 p.m. at Murray Hall. Tickets will be on sale prior to the festival.
