SCARBOROUGH (AP) — A man hired a plane to fly a banner over NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s vacation home in Maine, telling him to go back to New York.
WCSH6 television reported (http://on.wcsh6.com/1VV5kSl ) that Richard Pate of Biddeford, Maine, hired a local pilot and plane Saturday to protest the suspension of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Brady was suspended for his role in the use of deflated footballs in the AFC championship game in January. Goodell upheld the suspension Tuesday after Brady appealed.
Pate said the pilot was more than happy to help.
The banner instructed Goodell to “Jet back to New York.”
Pate wouldn’t say how much the plane cost, but said it was worth every penny.
