FARMINGTON — Police said a Temple couple were injured Sunday when a car crossed Bridge Street in front of their motorcycle.

Thomas Sullivan, 32, and Brittanie Gragg, 28, were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by a NorthStar ambulance after the 12:36 p.m. accident, Farmington police officer Darin Gilbert said.

The two were riding a 2002 Victory motorcycle on Bridge Street, he said.

Carol Grindle, 67, of Temple, told Gilbert she looked both ways but didn’t see the motorcycle as she attempted to cross Bridge Street from the West Farmington Post Office parking lot to an apartment parking area.

Sullivan tried to avoid a collision but hit the passenger door and front of Grindle’s 2006 Toyota Camry, the officer said.

Grindle was charged with failure to yield to traffic, Gilbert said.

The motorcycle was damaged but could be ridden, he said. He estimated Grindle’s vehicle received more than $3,000 damage.

A spokesman for FMH had no comment Monday on the motorcyclists.
