WILTON — Police are investigating the theft of over $1,000 in cash from Sugarloaf Rescue Vehicles on Route 2 during the weekend.

Owner Ron Morin buys, maintains and sells rescue vehicles from the site, Wilton Police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.

Morin arrived Monday morning to find someone had forced their way in through a window. Cash and a small safe containing cash were taken, she said.

The business is located near the intersection of Munson Road.

Maine State Police are assisting with the investigation. Morin allows troopers to use the property to wash cruisers and he reported it to them also, she said.
