1934 – 2015

LEWISTON — Clarence R. “Reggie” Rawls, 81, of Stevens St., died Sunday, August 2, at his home with his family by his side.

Born in Aulander, N.C., May 9, 1934, a son of the late Clarence and Ida Rawls, he was a graduate of Aulander High School in the Class of 1952.

Rawls was a member of the Lewiston Christian Fellowship Church and served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1975, where he flew P-2 Neptune planes into Brunswick Naval Air Station.

He enjoyed golfing and miniature golf, family games, barbecues, camping and sitting on his back deck watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard. He loved his family pets, especially Dakota.

He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia C. Marois of Lewiston, whom he married August 3, 1957; two sons, Thomas R. Rawls and his wife, Mary, of Ohio, Robert A. Rawls and his wife, Virginia (Jen), of Lewiston; grandchildren, Anthony and Susan Fowler, Kera McKellick, Adam, Aaron, Nicole, Zachary, Hannah Noel, and Jason Rawls; great-grandchildren, Danika Rawls and Even Aoibheanns McKellick; and his sisters, Janet Rowe and Margaret Clark.

He was also predeceased by his grandson, Matthew Rawls; and a sister, Carlene Maxim.
