PORTLAND — A federal judge in Maine is ruling that a Texas man will spend 14 years in prison for transporting child pornography.
Judge Jon D. Levy sentenced 37-year-old Steven Sawyer of Splendora, Texas, on Monday. He pleaded guilty to the charge on March 25.
Court records say Sawyer sent an email message to an undercover email account of a special agent with the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations in Maine. An attachment included a video depicting child pornography.
The judge also ordered Sawyer to spend 10 years in supervised release.
