HEBRON — The 30th annual reunion of the Warren Family was held at Hebron Pines on July 19. This is a gathering of the descendants of the lat F. Milton and Verlie Warren.

There were 211 people in attendance from Auburn, Augusta, Buckfield, Chesterville, Dedham, Gardiner, Gorham, Greene, Hollis, Jay, Leeds, Lisbon, Lisbon Falls, Lubec, Monmouth, Pittston, Sabattus, South Berwick, Sumner, Turner, Wayne, Wells and Winthrop; and Deering, N.H.; Grantham, N.H.; Grantham, N.H.; Brockton, Mass.; West Bridgewater, Mass.; and Oberlin, Ohio.

The family members that had traveled the farthest were the children of Heidi Warren Vayda of Oberlin, Ohio. Walter Warren was the oldest member in attendance. The youngest was Abraham Charles Johnson, born April 17 to Matthew and Dana Johnson.

During the past year, the family has celebrated four weddings, six births, six high school graduations and three college graduations. During the reunion, five essays on the subject of the importance of family written by high school graduates, Brynn Vayda, Jesse Warren, Gracie Turcotte, Scotty, Wheeler and Justin Freda were read aloud. These college-bound students received gifts of $125 each.

After a brief business meeting, Helen Hadley read the poem “Casey at the Bat.” Marie Allen dedicated a poem she wrote to the cousins who have lost a parent. Robin Warren and his daughter Rachel sang, “When I Get Where I Am Going.” Karen Matthieu shared a poem she wrote, “Are you Read?” And Walter Warren shared some memories of his father.

The annual fund-raising auction was conducted by Abe Additon. A quilt made by Regina Hutchinson, the 18th in a series of quilts, was sold for $230. A braided rug made by Esther Robinson sold for $300, and another made by Beryl Robinson sold for $270.

The total family count to date is 444. Next year’s reunion will be held at Hebron Pines on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
