DEAR SUN SPOTS: What are the special-shape balloons at this year’s Great Falls Balloon Festival and where do they come from? Thanks. — Balloon watcher, Lewiston.

ANSWER: Sun Spots hopes that you saw the Great Falls Balloon Festival Guide newspaper section that was inserted in the Sun Journal yesterday, Sunday, Aug. 16. That special section is the official guide to the Balloon Festival and has schedules of events and information about the balloons and how to schedule a ride. It also has a pull-out guide so that you can check off the balloons in the guide as you see them in the sky.

To answer your question, this year’s “Let’s Travel” theme will feature three special shapes — Aquario the Fishbowl, Jewel the Hummingbird and Planet Earth, owned by Patty Lewis and Doug Grimes, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. In case you missed it in the paper, you can see the Guide online at http://specials.sunjournal.com/. The Great Falls Balloon Festival will take place Friday to Saturday, Aug. 21-23.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21 and 22, the third annual Village Folk Festival will be hosted on Depot Street in the heart of downtown Bridgton, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. This hands-on celebration of rural life will feature a delicious Farm to Table Feast cooked locally with local farm produce. Add to that the VFF First-Ever Best Beard Contest, Contractor Games, two days and evenings of live music, day-long arts, crafts and games activities for children and families, a bustling marketplace of artists, artisans, local crafters and fabulous food vendors from day into evening, and a Beer Garden.

Information exhibits including “You Don’t Know Beans!” and demonstrations will be on the Bridgton Community Center grounds for the entire festival. History buffs can join an easy one-hour history hike through Pondicherry Park with live actors as founders of the town in 1779. Please consider supporting the Festival’s mission of celebrating all the people and wonderful work they do here in our region by contributing something to our Business Showcase and Silent Auction. Pick up a form at the Bridgton Community Center or call 207-415-9837. Thank you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I should have written that I am looking for the 2015 Boston Red Sox yearbook. Hope you or your readers could help me find this book. I checked many stores. The bookstore at the Auburn Mall does not carry it. Do you have an address where I could send away for it? Thank you very much. — Debra S. in Livermore.

ANSWER: A reader replied to your earlier query and guessed that you were looking for the Boston Red Sox yearbook. She noted that she has been unable to find it in stores locally. TC in Oxford wrote: “I went online at www.yawkeywaystore.com and ordered one for $10 plus shipping and handling fees. The telephone number listed on their website is 1-800-FENWAY-9. Their address is 19 Yawkey Way, Boston, MA 02215.”
