LEWISTON — The Lewiston Seniors reported 77 people met at Lost Valley Ski Area Thursday, Aug. 6, to celebrate Senior Fun Day. The theme was Western, and the hall was decorated with bales of hay, horse saddles and horse bridles. Each member was given a bandana to go along with the theme. The seniors played bingo, with Bert Dutil calling numbers, and Gil Cote led the group in outdoor games. After a meal was served, Denise Hebert led the seniors in line dancing. There were many door prizes and raffles drawn along with a pot o’gold.

Members will gather Monday, Aug. 31, for a welcome back luncheon. Lunch will be American chop suey, salad, bread and dessert prepared by Sis Martel. Tickets can be purchased at the office before Aug. 25.

The seniors are also offering the following trips:

Sept. 27: The seniors will travel to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The cost is $80 per person.

Oct. 6 to 7: The seniors will travel to Cape Cod, Mass. The trip includes lodging, three meals, wine tasting, cranberry bog tour and a two-hour canal cruise. The cost is $319 per person, double occupancy.

Oct. 25: The seniors will travel to a concert in tribute to John Denver at Merrill Auditorium. The cost is $76 per person.

Nov. 30 to Dec. 2: The seniors will travel to White Mountain Hotel and Resort Christmas Tour. The trip includes two nights and five meals, three different Christmas shows and an Austrian sleigh ride. The cost is $419 per person, double occupancy.

May 14 to 22, 2016: The seniors will travel to Chicago. The trip includes eight nights lodging, 14 meals. guided tour of famous Chicago landmarks, a visit to the Willis Tower observation deck, a visit to the historic Navy Pier, a cruise on Lake Michigan, a visit to the Field Museum of Natural History and a ride to the “Magnificent Mile.” There is a $75 deposit due upon signing.

October 7 to 17, 2016: The seniors will travel to Branson, Mo., for a show extravaganza – 10 nights lodging, 18 meals, eight morning shows and three evening shows, a cruise on Table Rock Lake aboard the Showboat Branson Belle with dinner and show included, a tour of historic downtown Branson and much more. The cost is $979 per person, double occupancy. A $75 deposit is due upon signing.
