AUGUSTA — The descendants of Mary Elizabeth Stewart and Charles Franklin Reed held their annual reunion in Augusta at the home of Richard and Jane Hatch with 38 members and guests in attendance.
Following the potluck lunch, Jane Hatch, president, conducted the business meeting. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Doris Girardin and Bobbie Reed, who had passed on during the past year.
Secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were presented and accepted.
Officers elected for the ensuing year are: Jane Hatch, president; Kim Kobierski, vice president; Karen Hatch Gagne, secretary; and Jasmine Ranger, treasurer.
The oldest member present was Harold Gilbert and the youngest member present was Tao Lincoln Giberti.
New babies born this year are: Alyssa Marie Hartford, born on July 24, daughter of Angela and Darren Hartford, granddaughter of Colleen and Dana Hartford and great-granddaughter of Shirley and Bill Hatch; Miles Wendell Sampson, born on Aug. 10, 2014, son of Natasha and Riley Sampson, grandson of Debbie and Rob Sampson and great-grandson of Joyce Poole; Tao Lincoln Giberti, born on July 26, son of Nick Giberti and Casey Gagnon, grandson of Sherry Giberti and great-grandson of Joyce Poole; Eliza Doyle Phelps, born on Dec. 7, 2014 ,daughter of Ryan Phelps and Courtney Ranstrom, granddaughter of Donald and Marilyn Phelps, great-granddaughter of Stanley and Samantha Phelps and great-great-granddaughter of Charles Reed Sr. and Eva Viola (Annis); and Theodora June Phelps, born on Nov. 3, 2014, daughter of Levi and Elainna Phelps, granddaughter of June (Reed) and Myrl Phelps Sr., great-granddaughter of Stanley and Samantha Phelps and great-great-granddaughter of Charles Reed Sr. and Eva Viola (Annis).
Following the business meeting there was a pie eating contest as well as an annual egg toss contest and a tug of war event enjoyed by young and older members and guests alike.
Members and guests attended from Auburn, Wales, Hebron, Sidney, Lewiston, Greene, Poland, Livermore Falls, Lisbon, and Danvers, Mass.
The next reunion will be held at Rich and Jane Hatch’s home in Hebron on Aug. 7, 2016.
