OXFORD — The driver of a motorcycle was killed after failing to navigate a turn on the shoulder of Robinson Hill Road on Saturday, according to officials.

James W. Storey, 39, was traveling on a 1981 Yamaha motorcycle down a steep hill on a slight curve when he went off the roadway and struck a tree, according to Oxford police Chief John Tibbetts. Tibbetts said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

Oxford Police Department Sgt. Alan Coffin investigated the crash.
