WILTON — A 27-year-old man from Jay was listed in fair condition Tuesday night with injuries suffered in a motor vehicle crash at Routes 2 and 4 on Monday night, officials said.

Michael Whittemore was flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with serious injuries, Wilton police officer Brian Lynch said.

A nursing supervisor said Tuesday night that Whittemore was in fair condition.

The driver of the second vehicle, Sarah Hackett, 34, of East Dixfield, suffered minor injuries, Lynch said, and was taken by NorthStar ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

Lynch said Whittemore was driving south on Route 4 on Burgess Hill and failed to yield at the intersection, pulling his truck in front of Hackett’s Jeep. The truck was pushed into the median and the Jeep rolled over several times.

Whittemore’s 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck and Hackett’s 2010 Jeep Wrangler were demolished.

The accident remains under investigation, Lynch said.

Assisting him at the scene were Wilton, Jay and East Dixfield fire departments, and Jay Police Department.
