AUBURN — A Raymond man remained in critical condition Thursday, a day after his car collided head-on with a tractor-trailer on Washington Street.

Michael Lahey, 54, was treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for injuries suffered in the 6:30 p.m. crash.

A hospital official said late Thursday that Lahey had been moved to another facility but could not say where he was taken.

Auburn and Maine State Police spent several hours reconstructing the crash site before reopening that section of Washington Street to traffic Thursday morning.

Police said Lahey was driving his Kia Spectra north on Washington Street when his car drifted into the southbound lane, where it was struck by an oncoming tractor-trailer driven by Mark Andrews, 52, of New Gloucester.

The crash occurred near the intersection with Poland Spring and Moose Brook roads. Police were continuing to investigate the cause of the wreck.
