WILTON — The former Dexter Shoe store on Routes 2 and 4 will soon become the home office for Upright Frameworks LLC.

Joshua Wojcik, founder and owner, said he hopes to bring the Dexter building back to life. The current location, in the former Bass building on Weld Street, poses issues for storing materials, he said.

The company, now in its seventh year, focuses on creating energy-efficient structures from scratch. The business also does general contracting, everything from decks to siding, remodeling and new homes.

The company originally started as a family business, which included Wojcik and his parents, Tom and Zetta Wojcik. It has grown to nearly 20 people, including other family members and friends who work on projects all over the state.

Wojcik expects to hold a small open house to celebrate, perhaps Oct. 1.
