Season outlook: Thornton comes to Buckfield after a stint at Spruce Mountain. He returned to coach the Phoenix boys last fall but lasted one game before resigning. He inherits a Bucks team that lost Wesley, an all-state back, but returns much of last year’s club that reached the regional final, including Damon, another all-state player. The Bucks are a seasoned group and will be strong in the middle and in back with veterans like Bennett, Campbell, Dobson, Dooley and Keough leading the way.
