LOVELL — Birds on a Wire will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Brick Church for the Performing Arts on Christian Hill Road off Route 5.

Birds on a Wire has been sitting and singing together since 2008 after Jenny and Greg Huang-Dale landed in Fryeburg and Jeanine Loubier flew in from Oklahoma to Waterford. Since then they have fluttered about locally, playing old-time and Celtic fiddle tunes, singing three-part harmony and laughing up a storm.

Jeanine Loubier is a horse-lover and piano tuner who spends most of her time adding to her vast musical repertoire. She played banjo with a family bluegrass band for several years before joining Birds on a Wire. Now her main strings are fiddle and guitar, but she might also be seen with a mandolin or behind the piano.

Jenny Huang-Dale plays violin the most with Birds on a Wire. Her Civil War-era instrument was recently gifted to her by friend and longtime Lovell resident, Albert Stearns. She’s already taken it on musical flights halfway around the world. She also sits on a lower wire, the cello, when the birds need a bass. Mostly, she loves singing in sweet harmony with other birds and other voices.

Greg Huang-Dale started out playing the banjo with friends and folksong enthusiasts in college under the moniker Flying Fingers. The group later became a traveling contra dance band and Greg switched to the hammer dulcimer. Greg enjoys other wires as well, but he leaves the bows to his bandmates. He loves to sing, too, which is where Birds on a Wire finds its greatest musical pleasures.

Tickets will be available at the door. The cost for adults is $10, or $5 for children 12 and younger. Refreshments will be served.
